Building on an
Existing Home
A custom Kings Beach addition that brought S. R. Freeman back to a familiar residence for new framing, exterior siding, window installation, and interior finish work.
Project
Overview
The Kings Beach Custom Addition centered on the construction of a new boat garage and additional work within an existing custom residence. S. R. Freeman's scope included structural framing, exterior siding, window installation, and interior finish work, bringing multiple phases of residential construction together under one experienced team.
The project also continued an established relationship with both the homeowner and Brink Custom Homes. Having previously framed an addition and remodel for the same residence, SRF was invited back for the boat garage and further improvements to the home..
Returning to a
Familiar Residence
Being asked to return to an existing project offers a different perspective on long-term craftsmanship.
S. R. Freeman already understood the residence from its previous framing work, providing valuable familiarity as the property entered another phase of construction. The new boat garage expanded the home's functionality while additional work continued within the existing residence.
The project demonstrates how a custom home can evolve over time and how established project relationships can carry forward as new construction needs arise.
A Closer Look at the Build
Boat Garage Framing
Structural framing established the new boat garage and integrated the addition into the broader residential property.
Exterior Siding
S. R. Freeman completed exterior siding as part of the addition, extending its scope beyond the primary structural framing.
Window Installation
Window installation was coordinated with the framing and exterior work as the new structure progressed.
Interior Finish Work
The project also included interior finish work, bringing SRF's craftsmanship into the completed spaces beyond the structural shell.
More Than a
Single Scope
The Kings Beach project brought together several areas of S. R. Freeman's residential construction experience.
From structural framing and exterior siding to window installation and interior finishes, the team remained involved across multiple stages of the work. That broader scope required attention to how each phase connected with the next and with the existing residence.
For additions and remodels, understanding those connections becomes particularly important because new construction must work within conditions that are already in place.
Relationships That Continue Beyond One Project
Kings Beach also reflects the long-term relationships behind much of S. R. Freeman's work.
The team had previously worked on the residence and returned when the homeowner was ready for the boat garage and additional improvements. The project was completed with Brink Custom Homes, one of the relationships that helped establish S. R. Freeman's presence in the Tahoe region.
Repeat work like this reflects the confidence that can develop when homeowners, builders, and trade partners have already experienced how a team performs.
Built With the Bigger Picture in Mind
S. R. Freeman approaches custom residential construction with an understanding that every scope is connected to the larger build.
Our philosophy is to think like builders, not just framers. At Kings Beach, that meant understanding the existing residence while coordinating new structural framing with siding, windows, interior finish work, and the surrounding construction.
That broader perspective becomes especially valuable when returning to an established home for a new phase of work.
