Project Overview

The Emerald Ranch Residence was a substantial custom residential project designed as a recreational second home for the family. S. R. Freeman's scope included rough framing along with exterior siding and trim across a property featuring the main residence, pool house, garage, decks, and a prominent great room overlooking the pool.

The framing phase kept the team on-site for approximately six months, followed by additional months completing the exterior trim. With multiple structures and distinctive architectural elements across the property, the project provided an opportunity to bring SRF's structural and exterior capabilities together within one cohesive residential setting.

Multiple Structures. One Residential Vision.

Emerald Ranch extended beyond the framing of a single custom home.

The property incorporated several interconnected spaces designed around how the family would use and enjoy the residence. From the main house and garage to the pool house, decks, and great room, each element contributed to the broader character of the property.

For S. R. Freeman, the work required maintaining consistency across multiple structures while progressing through both the rough framing and exterior phases of construction.

A Closer Look at the Build

Custom Residential Framing

Rough framing established the structural form of the main residence and supporting structures, bringing the property's architectural plans into the field.

Exterior Siding & Trim

S. R. Freeman remained involved beyond the primary framing phase to complete exterior siding and trim throughout the project.

Great Room & Pool Setting

A prominent great room overlooking the pool became one of the defining architectural features of the residence and its recreational setting.

Multiple Residential Structures

The scope extended across the main house, pool house, garage, and decks, creating a varied project with several distinct structural components.

Craftsmanship Beyond the Structural Frame

The extended scope at Emerald Ranch allowed S. R. Freeman to remain involved as the residence progressed beyond rough framing.

After approximately six months dedicated to the framing phase, the team continued with exterior siding and trim for several additional months. This continuity gave SRF the opportunity to carry its understanding of the structure into the exterior detailing of the project.

The result is a strong example of how framing and exterior craftsmanship can work together across a substantial custom residential property..

Building a New Working Relationship

Emerald Ranch also introduced S. R. Freeman to a new general contractor and project team.

Working together across an extended framing and exterior scope provided an opportunity to establish communication, understand expectations, and collaborate throughout multiple phases of construction.

For SRF, productive relationships often begin this way: through the work itself and a shared commitment to building a quality custom home.

Built With the Bigger Picture in Mind

S. R. Freeman approaches custom residential structural framing as part of the larger construction process.

Our philosophy is to think like builders, not just framers. At Emerald Ranch, that meant understanding how the main residence, pool house, garage, decks, great room, exterior siding, and trim all contributed to a unified residential project.

That broader perspective helps our team remain attentive not only to the structure being framed today, but also to how the work supports the phases that follow.
