Shone Freeman

Shone Freeman, President

Shone founded S.R. Freeman in 1992 after sharpening his framing techniques, first by working on tract developments and then moving to the architectural challenges of custom homes. An expert carpenter, Shone has a reputation as one of the best framers in the business and consistently raises the bar for himself as well as his employees. He has also shared his industry knowledge by serving as a consultant and contributor on several framing instructional books and construction school programs. When he’s not running his company, you will likely find Shone coaching youth baseball, golfing, fly-fishing and spending time with his wife and two children.

Mike Lewis

Mike Lewis, Vice President

Mike has been at S.R. Freeman since 1998. A carpenter since the age of 14, Mike has a reputation for getting things done and puts that skill to work building effective teams and collaborative relationships. His deep roots in the industry have proven to be an invaluable resource to his team members and to S.R. Freeman clients. Outside of work, he enjoys chess, surfing, and CrossFit.

Shayne Freeman

Shayne Freeman, Controller

Since 2002, Shayne has been providing his technical and administrative expertise to S.R. Freeman. A self-taught computer programmer, he loves all things related to technology and has worked with major companies including Excite@Home and Microsoft. In his leisure time, Shayne enjoys gaming, reading about history and politics, spending time with his numerous nieces and nephews and hiking in the San Francisco Bay Area’s parks.

Rodger Allen

Rodger Allen, Project Manager/ Estimator

Rodger started as an S.R. Freeman apprentice in 1994 and used his superior construction skills and intuition to steadily advance in the company. Rodger is perfectly suited for his position because he has the vision to imagine how a house will be built during the estimating phase, then applies his findings to the actual build of the house. He credits competitive sports, physical work and growing up surrounded by brothers with making him the resourceful family man he is today.

Ed Ingoglia

Ed Ingoglia, PM/ Est

Ed has worked in high end residential construction since 1972 and brought his skills to the S. R. Freeman team in 2009. During his years in the field he has worked in all aspects of carpentry and has served as a site foreman as well as an estimator and superintendent for a leading residential general contractor. Ed’s vast experience allows him to bring a valuable, holistic approach and perspective to every project he works on. In his off time he enjoys fishing, motorsports, and other outdoor activities, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Ryan Valtscheff

Ryan Valtscheff, PM/ Est

In 2003, Ryan joined S.R. Freeman as an apprentice carpenter. Prior to that, he worked in the aviation industry, where he learned great organization and problem solving skills. As a Project Manager, Ryan takes those talents and uses them to deliver top notch pre-job planning and works wonders with AutoCAD. Ryan is a big San Jose Sharks fan and an even bigger fan of his young daughter.

Jimmie Rogers

Jimmie Rogers, PM/ Est

Jimmie joined S.R. Freeman as a carpenter in 1996. He has steadily moved up in the company and was promoted to Project Manager in 2011. Jimmie is an amazing craftsman and carpenter, as well as being solution-oriented and customer-centered. In his spare time, Jimmie enjoys surfing, practicing martial arts and spending time with his family.

Armondo Martinez

Armondo Martinez

Armando started with S.R. Freeman in 2006 as a Journeyman carpenter. His calm demeanor and no-nonsense approach to building supported his desire to step up and run projects as a foreman soon after. He brings over 16 years of experience in the trade and a desire to take good care of our clientele and his fellow employees. A baseball fanatic at heart, his hobbies include coaching youth baseball and watching his kids engage in a variety of activities.

Kevin Cowell

Kevin Cowell

A S.R. Freeman stalwart for many years, Kevin’s motto is “implement the plan, evaluate the outcome and move forward with what works.” As a part of the S.R. Freeman team, Kevin reflects this attitude on every job. He began as an apprentice carpenter under Shone and Mike and moved up with the company to the Foreman he is today. His skills have developed over the past 15 years with S.R. Freeman from framing, exterior and interior trim work to jobsite management and pre-planning. Kevin mixes his tough work ethic with a great sense of humor to create relationships with clients and his co-workers. When Kevin is not at work you can find him spending time with family, at the gym or playing soccer.

Josh Dent

Josh Dent

Josh joined S.R. Freeman in 2009 as a carpenter, but quickly it was apparent that he was ready to run his first job for the company. Josh is a very well rounded carpenter, and with his disciplined work ethic, he continues to master the more advanced skills of custom home framing such as round work and more complex roof cutting. In his spare time he likes to fish, go four-wheeling and spend time with his friends and family when he’s not fixing up his new home.

Jorge Marquez

Jorge Marquez

Jorge has been with S.R. Freeman since 2006. He began his career in construction working with a general contractor building homes from the ground up. Intrigued by the challenges that framing carpentry presented, Jorge sought out S. R. Freeman to continue his career. From apprentice to the position he has now: a dynamic foreman with excellent pre-planning skills, Jorge values taking initiative and working hard to keep the job on a productive path. He has a fierce motivation to learn, and is always up for a challenge. When he is not working, Jorge enjoys watching baseball, spending time with his family, and time outdoors.

John Weatherall

John Weatherall

John joined us in 2001. He brought very solid skills and a strong desire to be the very best at what he does. Being encouraged and challenged to take on more complex projects over the past 11 years has helped John become solution oriented in his approach to projects. Working in the role of Foreman he has the ability to think through a problem and present a workable solution ahead of time. John leads by sharing his knowledge and experience with others, patience and encouragement drives success. John enjoys mountain biking, fishing, hiking, shooting, and playing hockey, but most of all he loves spending time with his family.

Jim started working at S.R. Freeman in 2002 as a journeyman carpenter and worked his way up to foreman. Since joining S.R. Freeman, Jim has consistently improved the quality and care and has insured great products and customer experience. Jim enjoys his job and takes pride in the work that he does. Jim also mentors apprentices and has developed a keen eye for those that will be an asset to our team. Jim is very active with his sons and their busy athletic schedules. He likes to camp, fish, hunt, and go dirt bike riding with his family and friends.

Francisco Hinojosa

Joining the S.R. Freeman team in 2009 as an entry level journeyman with a solid background in wood framing, Francisco took advantage of every opportunity presented to him here at SRF – from opportunities to run projects as a foreman to AutoCAD training and framing classes. Taking what he has learned and applying it with his “can do” attitude – and pursuit of personal growth – he has quickly risen up the ranks. Francisco enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. He also enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, wakeboarding.

Dean Pollack

Dean Pollack

Dean Pollock joined S.R. Freeman in 2009. With an emphasis on building custom homes, Dean brings a solid fifteen year background in carpentry and construction. Dean takes on and enjoys the challenges of framing the larger elite custom homes. Born and raised in Santa Cruz, Dean enjoys surfing, politics, chess and spending time with his wife and daughter

Kevin Dame

Kevin started in the construction trade at the age of 16 by working for his uncle as a helper. Two years later he entered into the Carpenter’s Union and continued to build his skills by working on many production projects around the Bay Area. He is a consummate framer and problem solver of the highest order. Kevin has been with S.R. Freeman for over six years, and in that time claims he has learned more about our trade in that time than the 25 years preceding. We are happy to share that sentiment – we’ve all learned a thing or two from him!
